In this part of the lesson, students listen to a recording where two people talk in a souvenir shop. They complete gaps with the prices they hear. Following that, students look at the price list from the previous task again and ask their partner questions about the prices. They also answer their partner’s questions. Afterwards, students read a dialogue between a customer and an assistant and practise useful phrases for shopping by choosing the correct words. Then, they listen to the recording again and check their answers. Next, students work in pairs and complete a dialogue with their own ideas. They then read the dialogue. Finally, students role-play a conversation in a souvenir shop. They practise useful phrases for both customers (e.g. Are there any… ?, I’d like…, please., OK. So I’ll take…, etc.) and assistant (e.g. That’s… dollars., They are… dollars, Sure!, etc.).
